Market Day Debrief - Sakura Iyama

    

    The market day event was very interesting for me. It is because there were many kinds of shops. I think the best part of this market was the clothes shop. Particularly, the second hand shop. I found Harley Davidson t-shirts, I wondered if I should buy the t-shirt. However, I realized that this is impulse buying. I did not want to waste my money, therefore, I gave up on buying the t-shirt.

    Then, I found an accessory store. There were many pieces that tempted me to buy, but I also did not want to waste my money, therefore I did not buy them. 

    Next, I found the interesting clothes shop, there was a cap which was written “てのひらあ”, which means that “Palmah”, it can make Japanese laugh.

    In conclusion, it was a good opportunity to endure impulse buying. Many New Zealanders are kind, and Otago University students' culture is fascinating to me. There is no market day in Japan. I want to share this kind of culture with Japanese people.

   Today's market was fun because there were a lot of shops. I saw accessory shops and clothes shops and tried a game, too.  It was the most interesting that many of the accessories were made by people.    I think the surveillance technology will help keep us safe, because if we use surveillance technology, we can notice crimes easily. The surveillance technology will help us to prevent or solve crime. Also, the picture quality of security cameras is really good these days, so the police can identify criminals more easily and it will help move investigation forward smoothly. Also, not only for prevention or investigation of crime, but for children's safety, the surveillance technology is useful. It means that if a child gets lost, parents or other adults can search for him or her by using the surveillance technology. That technology must help improve safety for children.   However, the surveillance technology can sometimes invade our privacy if it is used wrongly.
