Sentence Stress in English Pronunciation-Satomi Moriguchi

 I learned that English sentences can be divided into content words and grammar words. Content words indicates important meaning, and grammar words indicates no significant meaning. contents words are pronounced strongly and grammar words are pronounced weakly.  Difference between content words and grammar words is foundation of sentence stress. But This sometimes changes depends on the situation in which it is used, so sentence stress is so flexible. We also have to pay equal attention to these.

    I agree with you. Before I listened to this video, I scarcely thought about sentence stress, but it is really important when we speak and listen to English. However, it may be difficult for us to master it, because sentence stress is flexible.

    You got a good point! There are two kinds of words. They are foudation of sentence stress, but sometimes it chages. We have to consider the situation.

    I also learned that we should pronounce content words strongly and grammar words weakly. I think this method is useful when I speak English.

    I agree that we also have to pay equal attention to both content words and grammar words. It's not easy but if I can, my pronunciation might be improved.

   I think that the advantage and disadvantage of surveillance technology is the debatable problem. In my opinion, the technology of the CCTV camera makes our life much safer. If there was no CCTV camera around the city, there might be a lot of crimes. For example, in the supermarket, it could be much easier to stole the stuffs.   I think surveillance technology is necessary for our safety. However, it can be dangerous thing.  That technology is very useful to prevent crime and keep cities safe. In fact, there are so many CCTV cameras all over my country. And I have never been involved in crime. That tells us thanks to them, we can live more peacefully. However, some of them make me uncomfortable. For example, when I realize that someone is watching my movement, shopping habits and myself, I feel scared even if I don’t have nothing to hide. In other words, I worry that someone can identify me if my personal information is leaked.  In short, surveillance technology is important, but I feel that our privacy may be invaded.

   Today's market was fun because there were a lot of shops. I saw accessory shops and clothes shops and tried a game, too.  It was the most interesting that many of the accessories were made by people. Both of the students and the sellers seemed to enjoy the market.  I felt this market was one of the interesting cultures for the students and the local people in New Zealand.
