Christian Maeda - Letter to My Future Self

Dear 30 years old Christian

How are you doing now? Are you still working at the same restaurant, or you get the other job? I have no idea what kind of job I want to do at now, but it would be nice if you are happy with what you are doing.

However, I cannot imagine having family especially if you devote yourself to your work. I am not sure which family or work you will choose, but that is your choice. If you put more priority into work, do not sacrifice your health for success. Of course, your physical health is really important for you, but also mental health too. Try not to push yourself too hard. If you choose the family, do not make your family lonely. You must work to make a living, but your family is much important than your work. Once you choose family, you should not make them disappointed.

Anyway, the life is constantly changing. I'm sure you had lots of hard decision in this 10 year. Every decision you did are your treasure. You should be proud of yourself.

Take care yourself and stay cool.

kind regard

  4. Hi Christian, I think you give some wise and compassionate advice to your future self. You raise an important important regarding creating balance between work and family, which is no doubt a challenge for all those who choose to have a partner and children. I think it is certainly possible to do well with both; it may help to have a mentor in life or at least some good role models.
