Christian Mizuki Maeda - The Repair Shop

Have you ever go to repair shop to fix your special memorial treasure? This program "The Repair shop" broadcasts how the professional repairman in the repair workshop fixes the product. I've watched this program since I came to New Zealand, but I already love it.

Every single thing that the customer bring to the repair workshop to repair looks really adorable, but also it has wonderful memories and stories belonging to their owners. One goblet which the owner couple bought when they married had a sweet memories. One toy wooden house which owner's grand father made had a dramatic story. These lovely memories and stories are one of the biggest reason I love this program.

The way the professional repairs the antique thing is also one of the reason I love this program. Their skills and the knowledge are amazing. They know exactly what kind of stuff is needed for and how they can fix it. Those skills and knowledge came from their great experiences. I impressed with that.

Last but not least, we could see owner's happy face when they received their treasure. Those treasures repaired well and get back their original outlooks. Once owner see these repaired treasures, they pleasure really well. I love watching their happily face.

Because of these, I love The Repair Shop.

  3. Oh, it souds great. Repairing an item could be broken or discarded and turn it into a new face. And then give it back to the owner. It is so heart-warming.

  4. I have watched the Repair Shop from time to time. The craftsmen indeed have impressive skills. Actually my Dad was very much a handyman when he was younger. There was virtually nothing he couldn't fix or restore. I love the principle of restoration because it is so much less wasteful to restore than to dump or trash old & damaged items. Long may the programme inspire a new generation of craftspeople to enter the professiion.
