Nonlawan Nithikasem, - Street Dance of China

Street Dance of China is a Chinese tv programme, presents a competition of talented dancers both selected from Chinese and foreigners, broadcasted on youku, which is Chinese online platform. Its first aired in 2018 and there are five seasons of the show now. I also have been watched it around few years and it has always been one of my favourites. 

Firstly, I like how this show could convey messages, particularly in cultural aspect. This competitive reality show represents how Chinese youth subculture through many forms of dancing, such as hip-hop, popping, locking, breaking, urban, krump, waacking, and jazz. 

Moreover, I am interested how this show could consider as a tool of China’s soft power. The main theme is dance for peace, as the show combined with the international dancers, which in turn created a positive image of china to public awareness. 

More importantly, this show is fulled of energetic power and very enjoyable. As the dancers have to divided into teams to form a routine dances, and an compete individual battles, which make me amazed and thrilled how skillful they are. Each team has to coached by Chinese superstars. For example, my most favourite season which was season 3, was coached by Jackson Wang, Wang Yibo, Lay Zhang and Han Geng. 

Not only could booster your energy, it is very fun to watch and immerse yourself to Chinese subculture in contemporary contexts.

   I think that the advantage and disadvantage of surveillance technology is the debatable problem. In my opinion, the technology of the CCTV camera makes our life much safer. If there was no CCTV camera around the city, there might be a lot of crimes. For example, in the supermarket, it could be much easier to stole the stuffs. In case of on the street at night, the possibility of happened to meet suspicious person would be rise. According to above, the technology of CCTV camera makes our life safer and thanks to it, we don't have to much scared of stranger. Surveillance Technology-Nagisa Kanakubo

  I think surveillance technology is necessary for our safety. However, it can be dangerous thing.  That technology is very useful to prevent crime and keep cities safe. In fact, there are so many CCTV cameras all over my country. And I have never been involved in crime. That tells us thanks to them, we can live more peacefully. However, some of them make me uncomfortable. For example, when I realize that someone is watching my movement, shopping habits and myself, I feel scared even if I don’t have nothing to hide. In other words, I worry that someone can identify me if my personal information is leaked.  In short, surveillance technology is important, but I feel that our privacy may be invaded.

Talk with friends - Sakura Iyama

       Talking with friends makes me feel relieved. However in New Zealand, there are few friends, therefore I’m really into talking with my friends on the phone. Due to the time differences between Japan and New Zealand, it is difficult to do that, however its difficulty makes me think that I should value my time.        For example, the time to communicate with family and friends that I used to talk to before coming here is precious time and without that, I would not be able to be happy.  Therefore, in my opinion, making phone calls is not only difficult but also makes me feel happy.
